Our company's pressure & ttemperature transmitters are applied in China’s High-Pressure Gas Pipeline Pressure Energy Power Generation Project
China's first high-pressure natural gas long-distance pipeline pressure energy power generation project, the Haimen Station Natural Gas Pressure Energy Power Generation Project, has been officially put into operation in Nantong, Jiangsu. This project realizes the efficient utilization of pressure energy resources during high-pressure natural gas transmission, marking a breakthrough in China's comprehensive energy utilization in long-distance pipelines.
The Haimen Station Natural Gas Pressure Energy Power Generation Project works by recovering the pressure energy of natural gas transmitted through pipelines to urban gate stations, converting this pressure potential energy into mechanical energy, and then driving the expansion generator set to rotate, ultimately generating clean electricity.
Li Xiao, a first-level engineer of PetroChina West-East Gas Pipeline Company, said, "In the past, this part of energy could not be effectively utilized during the pressure regulation process. The new process not only ensures normal gas transmission but also can generate about 3 million kWh of electricity annually, equivalent to reducing carbon dioxide emissions by more than 2,000 tons."
Both pressure transmitters and temperature transmitters from Jiangsu Huahai M&C Technology Co., Ltd. are applied in this long-distance pipeline project. With striking orange appearance, they are easily recognizable in relevant CCTV report videos. In the project, these two types of transmitters mainly play the following roles:
Pressure Monitoring: It accurately measures the pressure changes of natural gas in the pipeline during the high-pressure transmission phase, pressure regulation process, and residual pressure recovery link. This provides basic data on the operating status of the entire pipeline system, ensures that the pressure remains within a safe and reasonable range, and effectively prevents safety accidents such as leaks and explosions caused by abnormal pressure.

Temperature Monitoring: It dynamically captures the temperature fluctuations of natural gas in the pipeline, especially during residual pressure recovery, equipment heat exchange, and other links. This provides a key basis for judging the medium state and equipment operating efficiency, and prevents problems such as damage to pipeline materials and changes in medium properties caused by abnormal temperatures.

(II) Multi-Dimensional Early Warning for Leaks and Faults
Pressure Dimension: By continuously monitoring pressure changes, it can promptly detect pipeline leaks (such as abnormal pressure drops) or faults in pressure-related equipment (e.g., faults of pressure transmitters themselves can be reflected through abnormal output signals).Temperature Dimension: If a pipeline leak occurs, the medium temperature is often abnormally synchronized with the pressure; when equipment such as heat exchangers and expanders malfunctions, the temperature will also deviate from the normal range. Temperature transmitters can provide early warnings for operation and maintenance personnel from another dimension, facilitating rapid troubleshooting and handling and ensuring the safety and continuity of the pipeline system.
(III) Dual-Drive for Energy Conservation and Environmental Protection
The Haimen Station project can generate approximately 3 million kWh of electricity and reduce carbon dioxide emissions by more than 2,000 tons annually. The accurate pressure monitoring of pressure transmitters ensures the efficient utilization of residual pressure resources, while temperature transmitters further improve energy conversion efficiency by optimizing temperature control in the waste heat recovery link. The two form a dual-drive force, jointly supporting the achievement of this energy-saving and emission-reduction goal and promoting the in-depth application of green and low-carbon technologies.
